My Goals for 2016

Happy New Year! 🙂

2015 was kinda cruddy and I’m glad that it’s behind me. I plan to do more in 2016. Here are my goals:

a) Get a new job. By now I have been in my job for about 16 months. It’s a decent enough amount of time, so that should help my resume out. I’m looking for something that keeps me closer to home, does not involve sales in any way, and hopefully pays a bit better.

b) Go on my first-ever date. I have yet to go on what I would say is a date – an outing with a guy with the intention/possibility of it creating a romantic relationship. I don’t want to do this weird, ambiguous, uncertain “is this a date? are we just hanging out?” thing anymore. And I’m 26… and I’m not getting any younger.

c) Go on a getaway/trip. I don’t care if it’s a little weekend trip. Since I don’t know what kind of vacation time I’ll get this year, I can’t really plan anything yet. But if I have a long weekend, it would be nice to go somewhere. I haven’t done any traveling since Sept 2012, so I’m a bit rusty.

d) Sew an article of clothing. I’ve been meaning to get into sewing clothes for myself for a while. I’m a beginner/intermediate seamstress… I can figure my way through some techniques somehow haha. I also want to get into historical and folk costuming at some point (so many beautiful things!!), but I have no idea where to begin with it.

e) Read more. Oy. I only read one book last year. I have a long list of books I’ve been meaning to read. So if I can read like… two… books, that’ll help a bit haha.

f) Watch Mad Men. Enough said for this one.

g) Attend at least one Serbian Orthodox service. Through my work, I’ve met a few Serbian Orthodox people. One coworker has invited me to join her. I have always been curious about Orthodox services, so I will take her up on her offer.

h) Take more photos. Just have fun with my camera – and use this as an opportunity to check out new places and discover unique photo subjects.

i) Blog more often. I will do my best to post here at least once a week. A photo, or a haiku, or even a youtube video that I found and liked enough to share.

j) Be more active on Etsy. I hardly had any sales last year and I largely forgot about my store. I struggled to find inspiration to craft last year. But I will craft when I can, and keep up-to-date on my listings and try to advertise more. … and if you wanted to check out my store now, here is a link to FrauleinPfau! I will also see about selling at two craft shows; the last few years I only sold at one, so maybe if I sell at two, it’ll inspire (aka pressure haha) me to craft more.

We’ll see how this year goes 🙂

Do you have any goals for 2016?

The best of luck to everyone. I hope that 2016 will be great to everyone.

Ninety nine

Ninety-nine days remain in 2015. My, how time is flying!

(Or it might be ninety-eight by the time you read this. Either way, we’re now in the double-digits, y’all.)

How has your year been shaping up so far? Are you reaching success for any or all of your goals and resolutions for 2015?

I’m currently in the job hunt again. I have confidence that I will be in a new, better, and happier job by the end of the year. Now that I have a much better idea of what I like and don’t like about my job, it gives me some better ideas of what I want to look for.

I’ve cut ties with a few not-so-good-for-me people. I’m trying to befriend people who are positive influences and who align more to my beliefs and interests.

I have yet to ever go on a date. I’m still absolutely terrified of putting myself out there on an online dating website.

I’m still maintaining my volunteering and involvement at my church. I’d like to do more, but maybe I’ll wait to see what my new job will be.

I only read one book this year. I think I had aimed for 10? I can’t remember.

My goal for this year was, in general, to do better for myself. I hit some very low and bad times this year, primarily due to stresses and frustrations with my job. I feel like once I’m in a new job, things will get better.

We still have time to shape our year to exactly (or as close as) to what we wanted for 2015.

The best of luck to everyone in this 2015 journey.

240 Days Remain

My goal for this year is:

To be happier and to do better for myself.

I’m working on it.

Some things I can’t quite decide yet if I’m successful in them because I haven’t quite been in those specific situations… like it’s one thing to tell yourself that you will/won’t do something, but it’s the “walking the walk” that I need to be able to do.

Some things I haven’t started their processes yet, but will soon start shortly. There are two big goals/accomplishments I have for this year – I won’t mention what they are, but I hope that I can accomplish one by July 1 (my 26th birthday). Don’t worry, you’ll know when they happen. 🙂

Two hundred and forty days remain in 2015. I want this to be “my” year and get myself on a personal path to achieve the happiness, joy, and peace that I want and need in my life. It’s still a fair amount of time, but time has a fun (not) way of really speeding up and then we end up wondering what the heck happened to the year.

If you have some goals/resolutions for this year, I hope you’re doing well with them and I wish you the best of luck.

We can seize this year.

My 2015 Resolution

I have two goals for 2015. One is to read at least 10 books this year. I think I read 26 last year, but that was because I had A LOT of time to read and whatnot. My second goal? It’s more general and nothing specific, but it is:

To be happier and to do better for myself.

I hope 2015 will be a much better year than the past few. Hope all of your 2015s are going well so far.
